As I was walking to pick up a package at my local DHL depot this morning, it struck me that even something as simple as this walk is remarkable because we are living where we are. While Oberursel is a decent-sized town, and we can see the Frankfurt skyline from our house, we are also near a number of apple orchards, vegetable crops, and horse & cow farms. Everyone is free to walk the paths through all of these fields whenever they want – to chat with friends, listen to podcasts, or walk a dog (just don’t sit down! see previous post from April).
So here is my 18-minute walk to the DHL depot:
Even better, the package was actually a fun one – for me! – a subscription box that Matt got me as a birthday gift that’s similar to Birchbox in the US. It’s funny how a little hand lotion can make all the difference as we face a second round of lockdowns. Hope everyone reading is staying healthy and enjoying the changing seasons – we miss you all!!!

I love this! If I had to pick one thing I miss most about Germany, it would probably be the endless paths available for all to enjoy through nature! Happy Thanksgiving and stay healthy 🙂
