We welcomed our first visitor to Germany last week – my mom! Gosh, we had so much fun being with her – the kids could not get enough and it was so great to have her here! She said she really just wanted to see what living here is like, so we spent most of the time doing ‘regular stuff’ – grocery shopping, school pick-ups, taking Cara for her first haircut here (I said 4cm, but I think he thought I meant inches – whoops!), watching Rowan play soccer, going to my German class (possessive pronouns – sorry, mom!), etc. To make sure we didn’t leave out the more exciting parts of Germany, we also threw in coffee at the nearby castle, a drive up to the ‘high mark’ of the small mountain range we’re close to, lots of pretzels and pastries, and of course, dinners out at our favorite local biergartens!
I didn’t get many pictures of her, because she doesn’t like pictures (“we know what I look like!”) but this was a great one of her at our local farm market with the view of Frankfurt in the background:

Thanks for making the trip, Nananne!!! Can’t wait to see you at Christmas!!
Sounds like an amazing visit!💗
